Maja Salvador plays a liberal teacher in afternoon soap Nagsimula sa Puso

"Dito sa Nagsimula sa Puso, ang declaration namin sa unit is, 'This is her moment,'" says ABS-CBN AdProm Head Biboy Arboleda reffering to the show's lead star, Maja Salvador.

It took a while before the 21-year-old actress was given the opportunity to star in her own show. Now, it's finally happening for Maja via the remake of the '90s film Nagsimula sa Puso where she reprises the role of award-winning actress Hilda Koronel.

When Maja knew about it, she admitted she couldn't focus on their first taping day. She described, "Noong nalaman ko po na dating movie ito ni Hilda Koronel talagang ang first taping day, sa sobrang kaba ko po, hindi po ako alert. Parang first time kong artista, iniisip ko na po na sana magustuhan ng management, sana magustuhan ni Ms. Hilda."

However, Maja did not let nervousness ruin her moment on the show. Instead, it gave her more motivation to give her best in every scene that she does.

Maja, who is a niece of actor Phillip Salvador, did her best to make every scene look convincing.

In Nagsimula sa Puso, the viewers will see a different Maja, who already bid goodbye to "pa-tweetums" roles.

She plays the role of Celina, a teacher who will fall in love with her student named Carlo (played by Coco Martin). But Celina's dictator mother (played by Jaclyn Jose) strongly opposes their relationship and wants her to marry the son of a family friend named Jim (played by Jason Abalos). Nikki Gil is cast as the childhood friend of Coco's character. Carlo is thrown into prison and tortured. He is eventually accused of sexual harassment and attempted kidnapping. How will Celina fight for her love?

Since this is a new character for Maja, she did not deny that sometimes she had to ask her co-actors about their opinions on the scenes that she had to do.

Find out how daring Maja will be in Nagsimula sa Puso, which will air daily starting October 12. It will air on ABS-CBN's Hapontastik right after Wowowee.
