What if a seemingly simple rose traps an old woman in a young lady's body?
ABS-CBN's Love Spell enchants your Sunday afternoons anew with this month's special mini-series, "Sweet Sixty," which stars Sarah Geronimo, Oyo Boy Sotto, Roxanne Guinoo, Jake Cuenca, and award-winning actress Gina Pareño.
During the press conference of Love Spell at the ABS-CBN compound, Oyo Boy describes the experience of working with veteran actress Gina for this project. "Sobrang wala po akong masasabi kay Miss Gina. Natural yung ano, e, pagka-funny niya. At tsaka nakakatawa rin po, bago mag-take hawak-hawak niya yung script niya, binabasa niya, tapos may paper siya na sinusulat niya dun lahat parang [kodigo]."
The other cast members also express their admiration for Ms. Gina , the star of indie film Kubrador and Golden Screen Awards Best Supporting Actress winner for Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo.
Roxanne recalls: "Sa 'min mga bagets, sinosuportahan niya kami sa pag-arte. Like yung pag mga medyo ma-drama...binibigyan kami ng time para mag-moment. Kinakausap niya kami. Tinutulungan niya talaga kami and professional siya."
Directed by Andoy Ranay, Love Spell's "Sweet Sixty" tells the story of the clashing perspectives of sixty-year-old pessimist Doña Rosing (Gina) and her liberated granddaughter Anna (Roxanne), who has a secret relationship with Brian (Jake). Upset by one of their fights, the grandmother decides to tend to her plants where she is seen by the gardener, Bong (Oyo Boy), who offers her a rose.
After gardening, the old lady cries out of frustration and drops a tear on the rose, which magically transforms her into a young lady. Shocked but pleased by her new lease on youth, Doña Rosing then names herself Rose (Sarah Geronimo) and proceeds to enjoy herself, to the great annoyance of Anna (Roxanne).
But with the incredible experience, and the constant presence of the handsome Bong, will the old-fashioned Doña Rosing have a change of heart and finally open her heart?
Find out on Love Spell's "Sweet Sixty" airing every Sunday starting April 29 on ABS-CBN, right after Your Song.
