PRESS STATEMENT FROM GMA-7:
"This week on Kitchen Superstar, the biggest cooking-reality game show on television, the three finalists for the finale will be revealed.
"One of them stands to win P100,000-worth of kitchen appliances, a fabulous Asian cruise for four, a whopping P1 million-peso cash prize and the bragging rights of being the first ever Kitchen Superstar.
"Kithcen Superstar, hosted by restaurateur and chef Marvin Agustin, provides the ultimate test of the culinary skills of cook-contestants from all over the country. The Top 3 cook-contestants from their respective audition areas: NCR, Pangasinan, Pampanga, Davao , Naga, Cebu and Iloilo were flown to Manila to battle it out in various Kitchen Showdowns.
"One of the things I love about this cooking-reality game show is that it specifically gives a chance to those who have not been professionally trained to cook. These could be people who could not afford culinary training or those who own a simple and humble carinderia; as long as they qualify and have a passion for cooking, they have the chance to compete and pursue their dreams," Marvin said.
"Last week, NCR representative and call center agent Arabella Padilla became the 1st cook to make it to the finale. Three other cooks--TJ Temelo from Iloilo, Ting Lledo from Baguio and Jhast Andaya from Dagupan, Pangasinan--will compete for the two remaining slots.
"Once in the finale, three finalists will be in for the culinary battle of their lives.
"The must-sees early in the week are episodes showing the journeys of the Final 3 as well as never-before-seen footage showing the cook-contestants in between challenges and the fun side of Marvin, head judge Chef Boy Logro and other guest judges.
"By Wednesday, the Final 3 will be tasked to cook the best meals of their lives. In their final showdown, the cooks will create a three-course meal intended to impress some of toughest judges the competition has ever had. The finale’s Masters of the Table will consist of Chef Gene Gonzales, multi-awarded cookbook author, restaurateur and president of the culinary school, Center for Asian Culinary Studies (CACS); Red Crab Group’s Raymund Magdaluyo, one of the most successful restaurateurs in the country; and Chef Pablo "Boy" Logro, the 1st-ever Filipino Executive Chef of a 5-star hotel and founder of Chef Logro’s Institute of Culinary Kitchen Services (CLICKS).
"Who will walk away with P1 million pesos tax-free, other fabulous prizes and the chance to pursue his or her dreams in the culinary world? Who will shine and become the very first Kitchen Superstar?
"Kitchen Superstar’s finale week is on! Watch the episodes until its conclusion on July 1. The cooking-reality game show airs 11:10 am before Eat Bulaga on GMA-7."
