Though fewer celebs trooped to Boracay this year, the country's famous Holy Week destination still had its share of controversies.
As early as Lunes Santo, a former actor-model had a scuffle with one of the security guards at the D'Mall. Andrew Wolff was charged with robbery for allegedly snatching the .38 caliber revolver of Rodulfo Norbe. (Click here to read article.)
He was detained for a few hours, then had a settlement with the complainant the next day. Andrew was spotted partying with friends last April 9.
Another broil involving 2008 Bb. Pilipinas-World Danielle Castaño took place last Tuesday, April 7, at Hey Jude bar. In a report aired by 24 Oras, Lhar Santiago interviewed the beauty queen. (Click here to watch video.)
Danielle related, "He went up to me, then he started screaming at me tapos sinampal niya ako. Hindi naman 'ata tama 'yon. Hinagis ko sa kanya yung bag ko. It was self-defense. Pagkahagis ko sa kanya, he went up to me again and he was trying to punch me so I kicked him."
Holy Wednesday was relatively quiet, and then Maundy Thursday saw a mild furor. Sexbomb girls Rochelle Pangilinan and Aifha Medina reportedly had a heated confrontation with a guy. Their manager Joy Cancio issued a statement to PEP, clearing the names of her wards: "Hindi sila basagulero." (Click here to read article.)
Some stars opted to enjoy the break devoid of any showbiz issue. PEP's correspondent reported: "Ang hirap nila hanapin. Nagtatago sila sa araw, nagpa-party sa gabi."
Others joined the religious festivities of the island and, as much as possible, stayed away from the PEParazzo.
