Ramp model Erlinda "Lynn" Ynchausti was a Noranian, but she didn't particularly like Tirso "Pip" Cruz III because, among other things, "parang ang tingin ko, ang yabang."
One day she went with friends to a Quezon City bar, where she noticed the lead singer of a band called The Cruzers. The spotlight seemed to create a halo around the singer's head, and Lynn told one of her friends: "Nakita ko na ang lalaking mapapangasawa ko. Ayun, o."
Her friend, aware of Lynn's dislike for Nora Aunor's love-team partner, immediately shot back: "Gaga, si Tirso Cruz III 'yon!"
Lynn couldn't believe it. As for Pip—who at that time was no longer the big teen star of his Guy and Pip days, but who was coming into his own as a good actor—he noticed Lynn, too. He told himself: "Uy, iba ito."
The two ended up getting married in 1981, in quiet, unpublicized Christian rites. Five years later, they renewed their vows in a Catholic ceremony—and this second time around, they had photographers to record the event, as we see here.
