How does a fashion designer come up with a fabulous creation that looks like it was created only for the wearer? If the designer is Fanny Serrano, he will tell you that each work is ultimately a collaboration between designer and client.
“The one-on-one conversation means a lot. From there you will know what the client really wants to wear,” says this veteran designer-beauty consultant.
More importantly, Fanny will tell you, whatever happens his clothes are made never to overpower the wearer. For he believes that the successful creation is the one that doesn’t call attention to itself but calls attention to the wearer, the real star. Here, actress Lorna Tolentino, his first star client and a loyal client to this day, shows just how Fanny does that in these Oriental and European-inspired designs.

Fanny’s fashion advice:
“It is important to select a classic cut to double its function. Meaning, you can use the piece in more than one occasion. Don’t scrimp on materials and labor. It is always advisable to spend more on them to ensure the quality of the dress. Have a minimum of three gowns in your closet so you can go from simple to grand occasions.”
