Roxanne Cabañero backs out from Miss World Philippines 2014

Dahil sa pambabatikos na natanggap nito mula sa mga netizens, umatras na bilang kandidata sa Miss World Philippines 2014 ang kontrobersiyal na aspiring beauty queen na si Roxanne Cabañero. Gusto na rin daw niyang ituon ang atensiyon sa reklamo laban sa inakusahan niyang nanggahasa sa kanya na si Vhong Navarro.


Isang araw matapos magpahayag ng kanyang intensiyon na magiging susunod na Miss World Philippines at matularan ang natamong tagumpay ni Miss World 2013 Megan Young, umatras na ang kontrobersiyal na aspiring beauty queen na si Roxanne Cabañero sa Miss World Philippines 2014 pageant.

Sa panayam sa kanya ng 24 Oras ng GMA kagabi, September 12, sinabi nitong, "Kailangan e para maging fair naman sa ibang candidates and ma-focus ko rin yung sarili ko dun sa kaso ko.”

Ang tinutukoy ni Roxanne na kaso ay ang isinampang reklamong panggagahasa nito laban sa actor-dancer na si Vhong Navarro na nangyari diumano noong April 2010.

Matapos malaman ng publiko na pasok si Roxanne sa opisyal na listahan ng mga kandidata, sari-saring batikos at panlalait ang kanyang inani sa social media.

Kinuwestiyon din ng ilan ang rules and regulations ng Miss World Philippines kung bakit daw napasok si Roxanne bilang opisyal na kandidata gayong may kinasasangkutan itong kontrobersiya.


“THE BEST WAY TO STOP THE CHAOS…” Bukod sa panayam kay Roxanne sa GMA-7, nagpadala rin ito ng handwritten letter sa organizers ng Miss World Philippines na pinamumunuan ni Cory Quirino. Ang naturang sulat ay nailathala rin sa ABS-CBN online.

Ayon pa sa sulat ng 24-year-old aspiring beauty queen from Cebu, "I would like to thank you for your genuine support and for really fighting and giving me a chance to be a part of Miss World Philippines 2014.

“I admire your generosity for giving me a chance to live the dream I have of becoming a beauty queen.

"But unfortunately, I have to withdraw from the contest.

"I am sorry from the bottom of my heart if I have ever caused stir over the controversy I am linked with that smeared and tainted the name and reputation of Miss World Philippines.

"I am heartbroken over my decision to withdraw, but this is the best way to stop the chaos and protect the name of Miss World Philippines... The whole two-day experience being a part of [the pageant] was a blessing and forever will live in my heart.

"Thank you for making me feel so comfortable throughout the screening to final screening. It was a family worth [keeping].

"Thank you for being so understanding and for supporting me all throughout. God bless us all.

"Good luck to all the beautiful ladies joining and I’m proud of all of them.”

Gaganapin sa October 12 ang finals night ng Miss World Philippines sa Mall of Asia Arena.
