Despite his ongoing legal case with GMA Artist Center, Aljur Abrenica is back to work in the Kapuso network.
GMA Artist Center is the talent arm of the Kapuso network which handles his career.
The 25-year-old actor said it took more than a year before he landed a lead role for a TV series since he filed the termination of his contract with GMA Artist Center July 2014.
“I feel so blessed and I am thankful sa naging journey ko.
“Finally, I am here again. I was never out naman, e.
“I've always been a Kapuso,” said Aljur, who's one of the lead characters in GMA's new daytime series Dangwa.
In an interview after the presscon proper of Dangwa last night, October 21, Aljur explained that his legal case with Artist Center has yet to be resolved.
But he's hoping that the whole thing would be settled soon.
“I won't say it's totally fixed. But the results are positive.
“The results are good on both sides naman.
“As much as I want to share what's happening, mga good news na nangyayari, gusto ko lang iwan sa mga lawyers natin [out of] respect sa kaso.
"It's beyond my understanding, e."
KEEPING THE FAITH. Truth be told, Aljur recalled that he considered quitting showbiz at the height of the controversy.
“Yes, pumasok 'yan sa isip ko. Yung nag-worry ako baka hindi na ako makabalik.
“Pinaghirapan natin ito, e. Pinaghirapan natin kung nasaan man tayo.
“Pero mas nanaig yung faith, e. Faith kasi, sabi ko nga, kilala ko yung sarili ko.”
But after all was said and done, Aljur is grateful that he got the chance to patch things up with his home network.
“Yung pinagpapasalamat ko yung pamilya ko.
“Yung GMA, kahit may ongoing na kaso, they are very supportive, especially the management, the Artist Center.
“They keep on giving me jobs kahit may ongoing na kaso,” he stressed.
At any rate, Aljur is glad that he remained on good terms with his colleagues despite his previous rift with GMA.
"Very warm sila. Yung sa news team, grabe!
"Nung nag-audition pa lang ako [for Dangwa], they're very warm. Winelcome talaga nila ako.
"Parang walang nangyari sa nakaraan.
"Every time naman na nasa GMA ako, ganun naman, e.
"It's just the case, matagal na siya. People really didn't change naman."
Aljur added that what's important is that he learned to stand for himself, and not blame anyone for whatever mistakes he made along the way.
“I know myself much better than before.
"And as a person, let's make it simple na lang.
“Right now, I'm very excited sa mangyayari sa bagong relasyon ko sa GMA, sa bagong relasyon ko sa trabaho, sa bagong relasyon ko sa sarili ko, at sa bagong relasyon ko sa mga makakatrabaho ko," he reiterated.
