The 32nd Gawad Urian was held last Saturday night, September 19, at the Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino, Cultural Center of the Philippines, Pasay City.
Most of the entries chosen by the Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino, which administers the awards, were independent films.
Big winners were Serbis as Best Picture, Brillante Mendoza, Best Director (Serbis); Ronnie Lazaro, Best Actor (Yanggaw); Mylene Dizon, Best Actress (100); Coco Martin, Best Supporting Actor (Jay); and newcomer Aleera Montalla, Best Supporting Actress (Yanggaw).
