Liwanag sa Dilim to show kilig moments between Jake Vargas and Bea Binene

Liwanag sa Dilim director Richard Somes (not in photo) did not observe any relationship problem between Jake Vargas and Bea Binene (left frame). This film also stars OPM singer Rico Blanco (right frame) and Sarah Lahbati.

“They've done their best para ma-execute 'yong pelikula the way we imagined.”

This is how director Richard Somes described his actors in APT's Valentine movie treat, Liwanag sa Dilim.

While the movie is pegged as an suspense-adventure movie, Somes also promises to show a love story depicted by its main actors, young love team Jake Vargas and Bea Binene.

At the movie press conference, he told reporters that he did not have a hard time working with the real-life young lovers.

“Actually, I just realized how easy it was to shoot kapag may love team kasi mas madali nang i-point ang love moments.

“Maraming love moments dito na talagang sobrang kilig moment.

“For me, as a director, what's exciting about directing a love team is it's always parang first time, na parang noong high school.

“Parang first time mong na-in love, nabigo, gano'n 'yong feeling.

“Sobrang laki ng affection nila sa set na almost like hindi pwedeng paghiwalayan.”

During the press conference, the young Kapuso couple admitted having a problem in their relationship. But Somes said he did not observe any tension between them while they were filming the movie.

“Wala kong na-notice na may tampuhan sila sa set. Except for kailangan sa set na may tampuhan sila, may away sila,” he told entertainment reporters.

“Never a chance na nakita ko silang magkatampuhan.

“Mas marami akong nakita kung paano inaalagaan ni Jake si Bea and kung paano inaalagaan ni Bea si Jake.

“I think 'yon din ang isa sa mga take off ko para ma-develop ko ang relationship na 'yan sa film.”

Somes, the director behind the critically acclaimed action-horror film Yanggaw and the horror film Corazon, believes that Liwanag sa Dilim will click among moviegoers even though it is opening on Valentine's week.

“This is the right time, the right date na ipalabas siya. But kung saan man papunta, I'm still confident na tamang date pa rin 'yan para sa Liwanag sa Dilim,” he said about the movie's opening date this Wednesday, February 11.

He then concluded, “It's really a well made film, and I'm very proud of that.”
