EDM juggernaut David Guetta opened 2017 with a bang!
Filipino ravers and music fans danced tirelessly as David played remixes of his mega-dance tracks during his Unity Tour held last January 5, 2017 at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
This is the French superstar DJ's second time to stage a solo concert in the Philippines following the massive success of his first Manila concert in 2012 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
The 49-year-old Grammy award-winning music producer is known for bring dance music to new heights with his chart-topping hits and collaborations with the world's hottest musicians including Nicki Minaj, Black Eyed Peas, Sia, Kelly Rowland, among others.
Celebrities including Janella Salvador, Marlo Mortel, Ivan Dorschner, Sue Ramirez, and many others were spotted at the event marking the DJ's comeback in Manila's concert scene.
Pinoy talents—(L-R) Funk Avy, Mars Miranda, Ace Ramos, and Tom Taus (not in photo)—opened the stage for David Guetta and took turns warming up the stage with their mixes before David's set.
David Guetta came out around 12 midnight and fired up the concert with his original tracks and remixes.
His opening song was Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike vs. W&W's "Arcade (Intro Mix)."
Towards the end of his first track, David greeted his Filipino fans by saying, "Are we gonna play hard? Let's go!"
He continued the concert with his remix of Wolfpack & Warp Brothers' "Phatt Bass 2016."
Aside from his eargasmic music, David got the crowd going with indoor rockets, laser webs, and retro/comic visuals.
Partygoers went on dancing and bobbing their heads to David's originals including "Shot Me Down," featuring Skylar Gray and "Bad," his collaboration with Showtek and Vassy.
He went on to play remixes of Jack Ü and Bunji Garlin "Jungle Bae" and The White Stripes' "Seven Nation Army."
David also played some of his classic hits including "When Love Takes Over" with Kelly Rowland and crowd favorites "Titanium" and "She Wolf" featuring the vocals of Australian singer Sia.
David also played his most recent tracks including "This One's For You" featuring Zara Larsson, "Lovers On The Sun" featuring Sam Martin, and "Hey Mama" featuring Nicki Minaj, Bebe Rexha, and Afrojack.
The French DJ continued the concert-party with the chart-topping hit "I Got A Feeling," the song he wrote for Black Eyed Peas.
David also played his remix of Skrillex and Diplo's "Where are U Now" featuring Justin Bieber, Avicii's "Waiting for love," and Zara Larsson's "Never Forget You"
He went on to play another original titled "Sexy Bitch" featuring Akon.
For his final track, the speakers blasted David Guetta's earliest hit: "Without You" featuring Usher.
Before playing this cult classic, David said this song always inspires him to create new music for his fans.
He told the crowd, "This is a classic but I don't get tired of it because every time I go to the stage and thank you for having the opportunity for making people happy and so I share happiness with you.
"You make me want to do more of this and go to the studio and make music. I could never do this without you."
Towards the end of the concert, David told his fans: "I'm happy tonight! I hope I made you happy, too!"
He ended the concert by telling Pinoys, "Manila, I love you!"
