Zaijian Jaranilla and Rhap Salazar sign up with Star Records

May Bukas Pa starZaijian Jaranilla (left) and WCOPA junior grand champion Rhap Salazar sign contractfor their first-ever solo music album under Star Records. Zaijian will be giving tips to fellowchildren on how to be an obedient kid, while Rhap will be singing selected hitsongs of the ‘70s singing group, the Jackson 5.

Following the success of the heartwarming teleserye May Bukas Pa, the show will bring itsstar Zaijian Jaranilla (who plays Santino on the show)

The child star signed a contract with Star Records last weekfor an inspirational album. According to Star Records managing director AnnabelleRegalado-Borja, the songsin the album will include tracks that are being played on the ABS-CBN primetime show.

Zaijian, who is celebrating his 8th birthday thismonth, said he was happy to sign a contract with ABS-CBN's record label. And just like in the teleserye May Bukas Pa, the young boy will also be workingwith Bro (a name he uses to call God in the TV series).

"Kaming dalawa po ni Bro [dito sa album]. Magkukwento kaming dalawa ni Bro kung paanomaging mabait, paano mag-pray, at paano maging masunurin," described Zaijian.

On the other hand, 13th World Championships of PerformingArts (WCOPA) winner Rhap Salazar also signed a contract with the same recordlabel for his first solo album.


The WCOPA Junior Grand Champion Solo Vocalist of the Worldand Junior Grand Champion Performer of the World will be recording some of the Jackson 5 hits. The lineup has yet to be selected by Star Records.

""First solo album ko po!" Rhap excitedly told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in aninterview recently.

The young singer said that he would make sure to have funwhile doing his first solo album. Also,he dedicated the album to the fans who have given him their full support. He said, "Inaalay ko rin po 'yong album ko sa lahat ng mga sumusuporta po saakin noon pa. Kasi po, 'yong mga sumusuporta po sa akin, 'yong mganag-e-email, sabi nila, 'Sanamagka-solo album ka.'"
