The “Pride of Pembo” Bryan Castillo of Team Magkapatid was named the grand winner of The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition Doubles.

The winner was announced during the finale episode titled "Ang Bigating Pagtatapos," which aired via delayed telecast last night, April 26, on ABS-CBN.

Bryan, who took home a cash prize worth P1 million, lost a total of 155 pounds or a total weight loss percentage of 52.56%.

From 293 pounds since he entered the Biggest Loser camp a year ago, Bryan now only weighs 139 pounds.

Kayen Lazaro emerged as the first runner up, Francis Asis became second runner up and Mommy Osie Nebreja was third runner up in the reality show.

Bryan’s prize, which was awarded by ABS-CBN Broadcast Head Cory Vidanes, also included a lifetime gym membership, home appliance showcase, a business franchise , and P100,000 worth of sporting goods.

Sobrang nag-renew lahat. Iba yung pakiramdam,” said Bryan.

Biggest Loser host Iza Calzado, who also once struggled with weight issues, was quite emotional during the show.

She told the winner, “Ako ata ang gusto mong paiyakin tonight. Pinatunayan mo, Bryan, na karapat-dapat ka mapabilang sa Final Four. And for that, congratulations!”

The first runner-up, Kayen from Team Mag-asawa, received a cash prize of P500,000. She had a total weight loss percentage of 50.50%. She now weighs 142 lbs. from 287 lbs.

The cash prizes of Francis and Mommy Osie, on the other hand, were doubled since they were the only team members (BigaTeam) who made it to the final four. Bryan entered the camp with sister Ikya, while Kayen with husband Carl. Both Ikya and Carl did not make it to the final four spot.

“Sa kalagitnaan ng edition na ito, isang bigating reward ang ipinangako namin sa kung sino man na ‘Doubles’ na makakarating dito sa finale ng buo. At kung sakali na magawa nila ito ay do-doblehin namin ang kung ano man na cash prize na mapapanalunan nila,” explained Iza.

As a result, Francis, weighing 156 lbs. from 305 lbs., was then granted P600,000 while Mommy Osie (from 280 lbs. to 147 lbs.) got P400,000. The runners-up also received a one-year gym membership Gold’s and a home appliance showcase.

NEW FORMAT. Launched in February 2014, The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition Doubles introduced a new format this year with fourteen pairs of contestants; a new camp with new “Challenge Masters” Matteo Guidicelli and Robi Domingo, who replaced season one game master Derek Ramsay; as well as a pair of professional trainers—real-life couple Jim and Toni Saret.

It was also during this edition that four contestants were caught to have sneaked in items that were prohibited inside the camp, such as cigarettes, junk food, and slimming teas to help them lose weight.

The contestants were Patrizha Martinez and Cathy Bautista of team Showbiz Royalties and Ralph and Christian Du of team Du Brothers. The four voluntarily dropped out of the competition.
