ABS-CBN’s daily noontime program, It’s Showtime, observed a moment of silence during its live episode today, June 24, 2021, to mourn the death of former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino.
It happened during the “Tawag ng Tanghalan” segment, where Vice Ganda led his co-hosts to do a short tribute to Noynoy.
As hosts Kim Chiu, Jugs Jugueta, Teddy Corpuz, and Vhong Navarro gathered on stage, a portrait of Noynoy was shown on the LED screens, which was used as background.

Noynoy died at the age of 61 this Thursday morning, June 24.
According to his sisters, the former Philippine president died in his sleep due to renal disease secondary to diabetes.
Though he never did a guest appearance in the program, Noynoy in a way became a part of It’s Showtime through his impersonators who joined the defunct segment, “Kalokalike.”
Noynoy served as president from 2010 to 2016. He was also a senator from 1998 to 2007.
Vice and Kim, who are hosts of It’s Showtime, are known to be close friends of TV host/actress/web star Kris Aquino, the youngest sister of Noynoy.
In honor of President Aquino, Summit Books is sharing Dream Big Books' "Ninoy, Cory and Noynoy" written by Yvette Fernandez and illustrated by Abi Goy as a FREE ebook for the next two weeks. Download it here: bit.ly/SBFreeNinoyCoryNoynoyBook
