Various artists, television programs, and advertisements are in the spotlight once again as Asian Academy Creative Awards (AAAs) unveils its national winners.
This 2021, ABS-CBN takes home a lot of awards for its entertainment shows, while GMA-7 earns the nod of the jury for its news and public affairs programs.
The Kapamilya channel and its subsidiaries bags 11 recognitions.
JM de Guzman is the recipient of the Best Actor in a Leading Role national award for his performance in the prime-time series Init Sa Magdamag.
Sylvia Sanchez and Nonie Buencamino, who are both part of the prime-time series Huwag Kang Mangamba, are adjudged as Best Actress/Actor in a Supporting Role for their performances in the ABS-CBN program.
The Best Original Programme by a Streamer/OTT is He’s Into Her (ABS-CBN / iWant TFC), which is top-billed by the love team of Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano.
Other ABS-CBN entertainment TV programs that are given recognition in their own categories are He’s Into Her, Maalaala Mo Kaya, and Everybody, Sing!.
Karen Davila is named the Best News or Current Affairs Presenter.
Meanwhile, GMA-7's Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho: "Baby Switching" is the top pick for Best Infotainment Programme, and Reporter’s Notebook: “Lilibeth, Sonia, Frank, and Fabel” is chosen as the Best Current Affairs Programme or Series.
24 Oras wins two awards: Best News Programme for its “Special Coverage of Typhoon Vamco (Ulyssses) in Luzon” and Best Single News Story for its feature on the "Typhoon Vamco Marikina Rescue.”
For its entertainment programs, All-Out Sundays is chosen as the Best General Entertainment, Game or Quiz Programme, while The Lost Recipe wins the Best Visual or Special FX in TV Series or Feature Film and Best Editing awards.
TV5, which started producing content in late 2020, joins the league and gets five awards from the Singapore-based award-giving body.
Maja Salvador gets the Best Actress in a Leading Role national award for her performance in her first TV5 project, Niña Niño.
This is the second time Maja wins the award, her first was in 2018 for her performance in the ABS-CBN series Wildflower.
The list of national winners deemed the country's top choices in each category, was released on September 30, 2021.
The grand final winners for each category will be announced on December 2 and 3, 2021 in Singapore, and will be chosen among the national winners from 16 participating countries: Australia & New Zealand, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong SAR, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
