After five months,GMA-7's second remake of the Thalia Mexicanovela Marimar has come to an end.

Marimar (played by Miss World 2013 Megan Young) and Sergio (played by Tom Rodriguez) finally got their fairy tale ending by having a wedding during the finale episode aired last Friday, January 8.

In the original Mexican version aired in 1994, Angelica (Chantal Andere) met a car accident and suffered severe burns.

The first Philippine remake featured Marian Rivera as Marimar while Dingdong Dantes was cast as Sergio.

In that version, Angelica (Katrina Halili) suffered a more gory ending since she was pushed off by Marimar from a helicopter. Angelica died when she smashed her head at a rock on a crocodile-infested river. The scene didn't end there as several crocodiles dragged Angelica's dead body and feasted on her.

Just like other versions of Marimar, Angelica Santibanez (played by Jaclyn Jose) also died in the 2015 Philippine remake. This time, Angelica died with her daughter Antonia (played by Lauren Young) in a fatal helicopter crash.
