Bianca Umali and Miguel Tanfelix, known as the BiGuel love team, topbill GMA-7's new afternoon teleserye Wish I May. It willair this Monday, January 18, after Eat Bulaga!

The tandem of Bianca Umali and Miguel Tanfelix is set to return on GMA-7.

The BiGuel love team will be featured in the Kapuso afternoon teleserye Wish I May that will air its pilot episode this Monday, January 18.

It which is set to replace the long-running afternoon show The Half Sisters, which ended last January 15.

Wish I May tells the love story of childhood friends Tristan (Miguel) and Carina (Bianca), who eventually find themselves falling in love with each other.

However, their respective parents have a great effect on their relationship.

Here are five things to know about Wish I May, which is directed by Neal Del Rosario:

1. The show's plot centers on a rare condition called chimerism.

The main conflict in this teleserye revolves around a disease called chimerism, wherein an individual has two sets of DNA.

Wish I May opens with the story of Olivia (Camille Prats), who lost her daughter because of her forbidden relationship with Clark (Mark Anthony Fernandez).

She eventually finds her daughter under the care of Loretta (Alessandra de Rossi) and Andrew (Mark Herras), only to be deceived since their DNAs don't match because of Olivia's condition.

However, when Olivia meets Carina, she forms a special bond with the teenager, not knowing that she is her lost daughter.

Viewers can look forward to seeing how Olivia and Carina discover their true relationship, despite the former's rare condition.

During the press conference, it was discussed that this plot was inspired by a true story that happened in the United States where the mother and her child had a legal battle because they did not have the same DNA. This marks the first time the condition called chimerism is used in a Philippine teleserye.

2. Camille Prats and Mark Anthony Fernandez reunite as onscreen lovers.

This will be the third time that Camille and Mark Anthony team up as onscreen lovers.

Their first teleserye together, Munting Heredera (2011), was considered a hit show that received high ratings and ran for nine months.

This was followed by the afternoon teleserye Bukod Kang Pinagpala in 2013, that also earned good feedback from viewers.

Three years after their last project, it is interesting to see if Camille and Mark will also exude the same chemistry they did in previous shows.

3. Bianca Umali and Miguel Tanfelix take on more serious roles in this teleserye.

This is the fourth time on television that Miguel and Bianca are teaming up for a teleserye. Thirs first project together was the afternoon series Mga Basang Sisiw in 2013. This was followed by NiƱo in 2014 and Once Upon A Kiss in 2015.

Just like last year, their teleserye serves as GMA-7's opening salvo for 2016. This time, they are back in the afternoon slot to portray more serious roles.

Just like Once Upon A Kiss, Carina or Cacai (Bianca) and Tristan (Miguel) start as childhood friends who will be separated because of circumstances.

They meet again in their teenage years, rekindle their friendship, and eventually fall in love with each other.

However, the conflict starts when they discover the past relationship of their parents, Olivia and Clark.

The young couple will also need to surpass challenges posed by Eunice (Ash Ortega), Carina's best friend who is also Tristan's girlfriend; and Dave (Prince Villanueva), Carina's friend who admires her.

When Bianca talked about her role, she said, "Compared sa last namin na roles, iyong roles po namin ngayon medyo nagkaroon po ng maturity. Kung iko-compare po sa past characters na na-portray na namin, mas sweet. Pero this time, may hugot na po both characters, and iyong maturity level din namin."

4. The teleserye uses Alden Richards' "Wish I May" as its theme song.

Originally, the title of the show is supposedly Maybe This Time that was set to air last October. This was revealed in an interview by Miguel and Bianca last September.

However, it was changed because of the popularity of Alden's song "Wish I May," which topped the iTunes chart. As a result, the series aired its plugs carrying the title Wish I May.

Audiences could be swept up by the "kilig" vibe not only because of sweet scenes from BiGuel, but also everytime they hear the song of the Pambansang Bae.

5. The show replaces The Half Sisters, which is considered as one of GMA-7's longest-running shows.

During the press conference, Bianca and Miguel both admitted that they feel the pressure about replacing The Half Sisters, which topbilled Barbie Forteza and Thea Tolentino.

This is because The Half Sisters aired for almost two years (one year and eight months, to be exact).

However, Bianca and Miguel also said that they won't let the pressure affect them. Wish I May director Neal Del Rosario also promises a good show with great potential because of its cast members.
