How did Encantadia 2016 fare in AGB and Kantar ratings?

Encantadia 2016 (starring Marian Rivera, among others) triumphs in Urban Luzon based on AGB Nielsen data. Meanwhile, FPJ's Ang Probinsyano (starring Coco Martin) topped nationwide ratings based on Kantar.

The highly-anticipated requel of GMA-7's epic telefantasya Encantadia is now back on the Kapuso network's primetime block.

The pilot episode was aired last night, July 18, at 7:45 p.m. after the Kapuso Network's primetime newscast 24 Oras. The 2016 version of Encantadia replaced the comedy drama Poor Senorita starring Regine Velasquez.

It was pitted against ABS-CBN's Ang Probinsyano topbilled by Coco Martin.

ANG PROBINSYANO. The tension-filled episode started by showing the tragic past of former Police Insp. Hector Mercurio (Cesar Montano).

In a flashback scene, it was shown that the wife of Hector got shot in the crossfire between the police and the rebels. Hector blamed his fellow officers for preventing him from joining the mission that got his wife killed. As a result, he gave up his badge.

"Kaya siya ngayon naging hitman," said Cardo (Coco Martin) as he warned his fellow police officers about the dangerous Hector.

Towards the end of the episode dubbed #FPJAPUltimatum, Cardo's grandfather Delfin (Jaime Fabregas) was shot by hitman during his surprise birthday celebration.
