In TV shows and movies that tackle infidelity, the legal wife and the mistress usually exchange feisty quotes and dialogue expressing their hatred for each other.
Sometimes, they can escalate to physical fights that involve face-slapping and hair-pulling.
ABS-CBN's afternoon series Tubig at Langis is no exception.
In fact, the Kapamilya show became popular of its intense confrontation scenes--not only between the wife Irene (Cristine Reyes) and the mistress Clara (Isabelle Daza)--but also with other characters such as Lucy (Dionne Monsanto).

These scenes even became sources of memes that became viral on social media.
The afternoon show is ending its run on September 2 after airing for seven months.
Let us take a look back at 15 memorable quotes that show the fierce side of stars Cristine Reyes, Isabelle Daza, and Dionne Monsanto:
1. Remember one of the first confrontation scenes wherein Irene choked Lucy?
Irene taught Lucy a lesson and warned her: "Ikaw, 'pag kinakausap ka ng maayos, sumagot ka. Huwag kang barubal! Gusto mong sabuyan kita ng tinola diyan?"

2. When someone ignores you deliberately, don't force them to pay attention to you.
Look at what happened to Lucy when she dared to ask for more attention from Irene. She got the attention that she wanted: plus a bonus slap on the face!
Lucy told her archenemy, "Huwag mo kong dinededma, ha!"
In response, Irene gave her a mighty slap and retorted, "Ayan, dinededma pa ba kita?!"
3. Irene was peacefully strolling in a supermarket when Clara tried to annoy her and bumped her pushcart.
Irene, trying to control her temper, then warned her husband's mistress: "Ako, huwag mo 'kong sinusubukan Clara, ha. Hindi kasing haba ng kalandian mo yung pasensya ko!"
4. Since Clara keep on insisting that Natoy (Zanjoe Marudo) will be hers in no time, Irene had to remind her and wake her up from her illusions.
The legal wife reminded her, "Gusto mo ingudngod ko sa pagmumukha mo kung gaano ako kamahal ni Natoy? Isaksak mo sa kokote mo na ikaw ay isang gabing pagkakamali lang."

5. But then, Clara didn't stop insulting her rival. She even asked Irene to go back to the bathroom where she belongs. "Doon naman bagay ang mga katulad mo, iniwan, binasura, pero habol ng habol pa rin."
Because of that, Irene wasn't able to control her temper and hit her with a bouquet of flowers.
And why flowers? Irene explains, "Minsan, ang dapat sa 'yo hinahampas ng bulaklak! Para naman bumango 'yang kaluluwa mo, na masahol pa ang amoy sa banyo!"
6. When Clara saw that Irene was finally pregnant, she said with disdain, "Congratulations, Irene. Sa wakas, buntis ka na rin, nakalunok ka na ng pakwan. Ilang buwan na 'yan?"
7. The mistress then revealed to the pregnant Irene that Natoy is now her "partner."
The legal wife then reacted: "Partner? Ilusyonada na ba ang susunod sa desperada?"
8. Irene then informed Clara that Natoy has been trying to woo her again after being separated from each other.

Clara got so angry that she ended up pushing Irene.

10. When Natoy was in a coma, Clara pleaded with Irene to set him free, claiming that Natoy is now hers.
