Barbie Forteza has already formed a strong bond with her four leading men in the new GMA-7 primetime series Meant To Be.
This marks the first time that Barbie is working with her leading men Ken Chan, Addy Raj, Ivan Dorschner, and Jak Roberto in a drama series. This new Kapuso show is scheduled to air its pilot episode on January 9, 2016.
Barbie and the four guys underwent various workshops, mall shows, and recording sessions that strengthened their camaraderie, as seen in their respective Instagram posts.
In an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Barbie revealed that their personalities clicked even though they have different backgrounds.
She disclosed that she personally attended the screen tests of her four leading men.
Barbie was also asked if there is a possibility that she might fall for one of her new leading men.
She quipped, "Actually, lahat sila, e. Nakakalito na nga di ba?!"
In the story of Meant To Be, Barbie plays Billie, a typical millennial facing several issues. She crosses paths with four men with different nationalities: the Indian Jai (Addy), UK-raised Ethan (Ivan), Filipino-Chinese Yuan (Ken), and pure Pinoy Andoy (Jak).
THIRD SLOT. During the series's media launch last November, it was revealed that Meant to Be will be aired in the third slot in the primetime block, which Barbie described as "nangangabog."
The series that currently holds the timeslot is Someone To Watch Over Me, starring Lovi Poe and Tom Rodriguez.
The series is known to be registering high ratings, especially in AGB Mega Manila.
Does Barbie feel any pressure knowing that competition is tough now among the primetime shows?
"Siyempre mas kailangan kong isipin na excited ako, and I'm thankful kasi I was given this opportunity, and let's see na lang what will happen.
"Kung sakali man na hindi masyadong maging maganda, I will just enjoy the whole experience."
Aside from Barbie and her four leading men, Meant To Be also serves as new Kapuso Mika dela Cruz's first teleserye on GMA.
The series also marks the reunion of Sheryl Cruz, Manilyn Reynes, and Tina Paner, who were known during the '80s as the singing trio Triplets.
