The AlDub love team of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza is tested on primetime for the first time via the GMA-7 teleserye Destined To Be Yours.
In this teleserye, viewers will get to follow the romance of Benjie Rosales (played by Alden) and Sinag Obispo (played by Maine).
A talented and happy-go-lucky Architecture graduate, Benjie is determined to prove and make a name for himself by successfully heading a big construction project in the mountains of Pelangi.
Through his friend Jason (played by Dominic Roco), Benjie learns that there is a job opening in the Rosales real estate company. As Benjie's college best friend, Jason will eventually volunteer to join him in the province of Pelangi.
Fate eventually works its magic when he crosses paths with and falls in love with Sinag, a beautiful woman who cares deeply for her family, the environment, and the community that she belongs to.
What happens when their contradicting values and duties to their families get in the way?
In the pilot episode, viewers got to meet the parents of Benjie and Sinag. Teddy Obispo (played by Gardo Versoza) is a sculptor married to Sally (played by Janice de Belen). The matriarch of the Obispo family likes painting and psychic reading.
Amanda Rosales (played by Lotlot de Leon) is the mother of Benjie. In a flashback, it was shown that Amanda's husband (played by Matthew Mendoza) was killed in a vehicular accident involving Teddy (Gardo).
In the teaser for the second episode, audiences got a glimpse of Vicente Rosales (played by Tommy Abuel), Benjie's grandfather who owns one of the biggest real estate companies in the country.
Also shown was Catalina Rosales (played by Ina Feleo), the daughter of Vicente and Helen (played by Boots Anson Roa) who will try to bring down Benjie.

This light romance series, which airs after Encantadia, was able to defeat its rival program My Dear Heart, aired on ABS-CBN.
The first teleserye of AlDub got an AGB TV rating of 22.5%.
Meanwhile, the family drama of ABS-CBN registered a TV rating of 19.6%, or 2.9 points lower than its rival.
