The tandem of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza was tested on the primetime block for the first time via the GMA-7 teleserye Destined To Be Yours.
In the pilot episode aired last night, February 27, viewers had the chance to immediately meet the characters Benjie Rosales (played by Alden) and Sinag Obispo (played by Maine).
Sinag is known as DJ Sunshine in her hometown. She often tells people that there is no forever since men cannot be counted on to keep their promises. It turned out that her heart was broken by her first love (played by Mark Herras).
When asked by a caller regarding her love life, she recalls her childhood friend who helped her when she got lost during a fiesta. The young Sinag accidentally fell into a river and she playfully pulled her companion into the water with her.
After spending the whole day together, Sinag did not get a chance to get the name of the boy who helped her since they were separated by their families.
Benjie, who is now all grown up, is shown to be an aspiring architect who wants to join the Rosales real estate company that is leading in its field.
