Melanie Marquez shares beauty secrets in new book

Melanie Marquez points out that New Placenta (product pictured above), manufactured by Psalmstre Enterprises, Inc., is the original product that she is endorsing. She warns consumers against using imitation products.

With her vast knowledge of skin care and beauty tips, former Miss Philippines-International Melanie Marquez is now confident enough to enter the world of book publishing.

Her book entitled Beauty Reborn: the New Placenta No-Nonsense Beauty Guide is co-authored by Jim Acosta and Dr. Dietmar Rummel-the duo behind the New Placenta beauty products. "She [Melanie] is living proof that this product works," notes Dr. Rummel, expert in cosmetic science and herbal medicine.

As the current image model of these anti-aging beauty products, Melanie is more than willing to share her best-kept beauty secrets to the public. "I have a 10-step [system] to share. [Nasa book] kung paano ime-maintain ang young looking, anti-aging beauty," says the model-actress during a press conference held at Max's Restaurant in SM Manila last October 20.

Known in the industry for her sub par English proficiency, Melanie is not daunted by her detractors. "Alam niyo po ako e nagpapatawa lang. Kinakarir ko lang [yung mga wrong grammar at mispronounced words]. Trabaho lang yun-huwag nating personalin."

Melanie says that the goal of the book is to inform and educate people. "Pagdating sa caring [of] other people, of course, I have to educate them the right way on how to maintain your own [beautiful] skin," says the beauty title-holder.

As epitome of beauty, Melanie says that she simply wants to give hope to individuals who are battling with skin problems. "This is no-nonsense...‘ika nga lahat po ng sinasabi ko seryoso po ako. Nag-eenglish ako [kahit] mali mali grammar ko. Natural na ho yun sa Filipino. Ito po yung tooto. This book will help everyone."

As endorser of Psalmstre Enterprise's newest product line-the New Placenta facial soap, facial cream, toner, and body lotion-Melanie is happy with the product's end result. "It's actually my first time to endorse a skin care product," shares the convinced model. "To me, effective sa kin yung soap na ito. Itong cream may sunblock na agad you can even put it under your makeup," she adds.

When asked to share a beauty secret, Melanie quickly pointed the importance of following a healthy diet. "We have to drink lots of juices-maganda talaga yung Vitamin C. Yung orange and pineapple [may] fiber din yun, [which is] good for our intestines. Kapag malinis ang intestines natin, gaganda skin natin," she explains.

The model-actress also advocates the use of naturally made products. "Ang advice ko talaga is [to use] natural [products]. It's a lot better than chemically [made ones]. [Mga] chemicals nakakasira [sa katawan]. May mga tablets kang iniinom para lumakas ka pero may artificial [ingredients] na chemicals. I'm against that."

Beauty Reborn: the New Placenta No-Nonsense Beauty Guide is scheduled to be released by December 2006.
