Polo Ravales shares his fitness tips

As the latest celebrity endorser of the skin care clinic Bioessence, Polo Ravales says he is very conscious about keeping his body fit and good-looking.

The young actor shared his fitness secrets with PEP (Philipppine Entertainment Portal) in an interview last December 6 at the West Avenue branch of the Skin Care Clinic.

He recalls that he became more conscious of his physique when he took part in the stage play Penis Talks in October last year. "Bago ako mag-Penis Talks, dun ako nag-start na sobrang diet [and work on my] abs. Dati puro arms, chest ganyan."

Here are his four simple tips:

Tip 1: Eat small portions.

"Kumakain ako pero hindi ko dinadamihan. Kunwari kanina, kumain ako ng two-piece chicken. Yung rice ko, kalahati na lang. Nung medyo gutom pa ako, nag-tuna sandwich ako."

Polo admits that he eats up to four times a day. "Dalawa, medyo heavy. Sa gabi yung lightest [meal]."

Tip 2: Eat the right food.

Polo said: "Hindi ako nagdya-junk food. Kanina binigyan ako. Kumain lang ako ng tatlo [piraso] tapos ibinigay ko na. Hindi ako nagku-Coke. Hindi ako nag-a-iced tea masyado."

Tip 3: Exercise often. Polo's diet is matched with hours on the gym. "Nagwe-weights ako four times a week. [Iyong] bigat...depende per muscle e. [Sa] biceps, mga 20 lbs."

The actor also patiently worked on his abs for around six months. He also does ab crunches every other day. In a day, Polo claims to do 200-250 repetitions.

Tip 4: Get into sports.

Aside from acting and modeling, Polo's name is now being associated with boxing. He says, "I box every day. Mayroon lang nag-aya sa akin. Isang taga GMA-7. Inaya lang ako sa Red Corner. Kelangan niyang kumuha ng friends niya para maging libre siya. Ganun lang kasimple, tapos na-enjoy ko na yung boxing. Nagtuloy-tuloy na siya."
