Eula and Richard: Love Letters in the Sand

Even with the gray skies and drizzle, the radiant bride looked unfazed. Even the nine-year age difference did not get in the way. At exactly 5 p.m. of December 27, 2003, Eula and Richard Litonjua were pronounced husband and wife.

Where else can the groom go barefoot on his wedding day except in a place like Boracay? For their civil wedding, Eula Valdez and Richard Litonjua could not have chosen a better venue than the country's most famous beach. At the very least the honeymoon suite was just stone's throw away.

The short and sweet ceremony came about a year after Eula walked away from a tumultuous nine-year live-in relationship with the father of her child. Although she had made a name as a villain in telenovelas, in real life she was the suffering martyr.

Things changed when Sharmaine Arnaiz, her co-star on the primetime sopa Saan Darating ang Umaga, introduced Eula to Sharmaine's cousin Richard, and engineering student who grew up in Australia but was vacationing in Manila. The rest is happily-ever-after.

The two got married on December 27, 2003 at the Pearl of the Pacific Resort in Boracay.
