Nene Tamayo and her husband Anthony Plamio plan to have a unique ballroom dancing theme for their wedding. "Sabi nga namin, since nagkakakilala kami sa U Can Dance, sabi namin lahat ng magiging abay namin kailangan sasayaw. Magbo-ballroom," said Nene, who was caught by PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) at Ogie Diaz's birthday at MDC bar in Greenhills, San Juan, yesterday, January 6.
Kumander Nene—a popular nickname that Nene got during her stay at Pinoy Big Brother's (PBB) house—surprised everyone with her secret civil marriage to Anthony Flores Plamio, which took place last October 3, 2006.
Nene, however, explained to PEP that they originally planned to have the civil rites last September 27, 2006—same day as her birthday—but they eventually moved the date to October 3, 2006. The event was held in a house rented by Nene on Scout Tobias.
Anthony was Nene's dance partner and instructor when she competed in the defunct ABS-CBN's celebrity dance challeng U Can Dance.
PEP asked for more details about their church wedding.
"Dapat ngayong April, e, nasa Singapore pa siya [Anthony] that time. Ayaw naman niya na ako lang yung mag-aasikaso," answered Nene.
"Gusto niya kasi laging double celebration. Kaya nga September 27 yung date sa civil namin, kasi birthday ko yun. Sabi niya kung hindi matuloy ng April, kasi nga short yung preparation, sabi niya sa September na lang ulit. At least ‘yon, first anniversary, at the same time birthday ko ulit," Nene added.
The couple also wanted to hold their church wedding at the Mt. Carmel Church in Broadway, Quezon City. They also expect all Nene's PBB housemates to be present on the day of their wedding.
Nene described the wedding a little more:"Tapos yung night ng wedding may ballroom. Parang ang set-up n'ya may dance floor tapos may prod na gagawin. Yung mga friends ko.... Marami kaming friends na talagang nagda-dance din. Nagko-compete din sa dance floor. So may ganung concept."
Asked if they're planning to have a baby next year, Nene quickly replied, "This year. Sana nga boy. Di ko alam kasi kung paano gagawing boy, e. Gusto ko talagang panganay boy, e. Pero kung girl, okay pa rin."
Nene is currently one of the hosts of an early morning show in UNTV called Pilipinas, Gising Ka Na Ba?, which airs Mondays to Fridays. She used to be the sole segment host of TV Patrol World's "Citizen Patrol."
