Elizabeth "Beth" Tamayo went to the weddings of her best friends, but she seemed destined to be always the bridesmaid, never the bride. And then, along came Johnny.
The two met in 2002 when Beth performed for the Pinoy community in Guam, where Chinese businessman Johnny Wong owns a casino. Johnny was immediately smitten. After two years of relentless pursuit, he got her to say yes.
They first got married in civil rites held in the Pasig house of actress Sylvia Sanchez, who exchanged vows with Art Atayde on the same occasion. The double ceremony was officiated by actor and Pagsanjan Mayor ER Ejercito.
Barely two months after the civil ceremony, Beth Tamayo walked down the aisle to exchange "I do's" with Johnny Wong.
