They met in 1989, when she was only 19 and he was 25. Although actress Sylvia Sanchez (Jossette Campo in real life) never liked mestizos, she somehow fell for the half-Spanish businessman Art Atayde. He was not the romantic type, but he was persistent. Best of all, he accepted her past-part of which included a daughter, Pia Marie, now 15.
Fifteen years after they first met, Sylvia, already 32, and Art, already 38, tied the knot. Between the time they first met and the day they decided to solemnize their union in a church wedding, they had lived together, been separated for a year and half, and had two kids, Juan Carlos and Maria Sophia.
