Is Jodi Sta Maria's marriage on the rocks?

"Hindi totoong may problema kami. Kung meron man, trivial things lang. Hindi yung aabot kami sa paghihiwalay," says Jodi Sta. Maria (pictured) about the rumor that her marriage with Pampi Lacson is on the rocks.

Actress Jodi Sta. Maria was surprised to learn that a rumor has been circulating that her marriage to Pampi Lacson, son of Senator Ping Lacson, is on the rocks. The actress, however, admitted that both of them are still adjusting to their two-year old married life.

"There are still so many things na natutunan namin at nadidiskubre namin sa isa't isa. After all, two years pa lang naman kaming kasal. Hindi totoong may problema kami. Kung meron man, trivial things lang. Hindi yung aabot kami sa paghihiwalay. Nakakagulat naman ‘yang balitang ‘yan! We are very much together ni Pampi. And very supportive naman siya sa ginagawa ko," explained Jodie to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) at the press junket for Walang Kapalit last April 13, held at ABS-CBN's 9501 restaurant.

She added, "Nandoon yata kami sa tinatawag na seven-year itch, tama ba ‘yon?"

PEP explained to Jodi that the so-called "seven-year itch" happens on the seventh year of marriage, when either of the couple might begin looking for a new thrill outside of marriage, especially sex.

Jodi then quipped, "Ay, gano'n ba ‘yon? Matagal pa pala, pero ayoko namang mangyari sa amin ‘yon. Talaga bang dumarating ‘yon?"

Asked if they are already planning to have a second child, the actress answered smiling, "Pag four years old na siguro si Thirdy. I think you have to be prepared emotionally, physically, especially financially ‘pag mag-aanak ka."

Jodi blushed when a fellow writer asked, "Anong family planning method ang ginagawa n'yo?"

"Ay, ‘wag na ‘yan! Nakakahiya naman. Basta sabihin na lang natin na nagpa-family planning kami, pero ‘wag na nating i-elaborate," said Jodi.

Recently, ABS-CBN issued a circular prohibiting all their talents to endorse politicians. Jodi is campaigning for her father-in-law, Sen. Lacson. The actress explained, "I might be an exception. Family member na rin naman ‘yon, e. Tatay ko na rin naman ‘yon, di ba?"

Meanwhile, a source disclosed that Jodi seems to be having a hard time living-in with her in-laws. The source said he overheard Jodi and some friends discussing about the couple's plan to move out of the house of her in-laws.

The source even quoted one of Jodi's friends saying, "Paano kung gusto n'yong mag-away? Pati ‘yon, di n'yo magawa, di ba?"

"Pero, in fairness, naman kay Jodie, ipinagtatanggol niya pa rin kahit papaano ang in-laws niya," adds the source. "Nahihirapan lang siya siguro dahil hindi nga nila sarili yung bahay."
