Actress Gretchen Barretto and longtime partner Tonyboy Cojuangco arrived yesterday, July 5, in Manila from San Franciso, California.
The plane touched down at around 6:00 a.m. and GMA-7's Showbiz Central managed to take some footage of the arrival.
According to Abante columnist and PEP contributor Jojo Gabinete, Tonyboy, who underwent an operation in the United States to remove a tumor found on his throat, was on a wheelchair and was immediately swarmed by his bodyguards as soon they caught sight of him.
Gretchen, on the other hand, took a while before emerging from the arrival area. The controversial actress was reportedly hesitant and felt anxious upon learning that television crews were waiting outside for her.
Many think that Gretchen feared being hounded with questions regarding the controversial "kisscandal" involving her and actor John Estrada. Gretchen opted not to grant any interview during the height of the controversy. Most of Gretchen's statements were relayed only through letter or text messages sent to close friends and reporters.
She obliged, however, to give some comments yesterday while making her way towards a waiting vehicle.
The coverage of the Gretchen-Tonyboy arrival will be aired by Showbiz Central this coming Sunday, July 8.
