Celebrities gathered at the Peninsula Manila Hotel in Makati City last Monday, July 16, to participate in the unveiling of Adidas' latest collection.
Among those who attended were showbiz personalities Bianca King, Nancy Castiglione, Cheska Garcia, and Kris Lawrence. Hip-hop world champions The All Stars, the controversial radio trio of Mo Twister, Mojo Jojo, and Andi 9; and rock bands Sponge Cola and Up Dharma Down were also present. Basketball players Doug Kramer, Wesley Gonzales, and John Christopher Intal were also handpicked to represent the sports equipment and apparel manufacturer.
These brand ambassadors, as Adidas calls them, are "living the pulse of today's youth," says the company's official statement. They were chosen for their passion and success in their respective fields. Other prominent personalities-turned-brand representatives who failed to show up due to personal reasons include Iya Villania, Marco Alcaraz, Angel Aquino, and Ryan Agoncillo.
A mini-fashion show was staged at the venue, where the celebrities took turns in parading down the ramp clad in athletic yet stylish sports wear that are part of the Adidas Originals Fall/Winter 2007 collection.
One of the event highlights was the performance of the hip-hop group All Stars. The energetic dance number invigorated the crowd present at the product launching.
One of the brand ambassadors, young actress and model Chesca Garcia is very vocal about working hard for your dreams. "I guess we're not just really here simply to endorse," said Chesca after the fashion show. "We're here because we want to encourage other young people that no matter what your strength or passion, nothing is impossible as long as you do all the necessary steps to achieve them."
As for former Ateneo Blue Eagles cager John Christopher Intal, he firmly believes everyone has the potential to achieve excellence. "All of us have dreams and it may differ from one person to another but the point is, every one of us must cultivate that talent and never settle for anything mediocre. It's always important to give your best and see the results later. That's what we want to impart and the message we're trying to get across," shared JC, a longtime Adidas enthusiast.
