"In fairness to Raymond, ang bait niya. Hindi naman kami acquainted pero in-approach niya ako," said actor IC Mendoza, son of Dolly Anne Carvajal, about his chance meeting with Raymond Gutierrez (inset).

A month ago, it seemed that the heated exchange between celebrity mom Annabelle Rama and entertainment columnist Dolly Anne Carvajal would never end. The argument was sparked by the latter's column, which carried a translated news item from Turkey that called Yilmaz Bektas—Ruffa Gutierrez's estranged husband and Annabelle Rama's son-in-law—a son of a "drug smuggler."

PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) caught up with IC Mendoza, Dolly Anne's son, at the presscon for Style Eye Catchers model search, which will be holding its grand finals on August 11 at Glorietta Park 3. The junket was his first stint as a public relations head.

Natutuwa ako kasi in fairness na-pull off ko. May mga pumunta! Sobrang saya," he said excitedly.

When asked about his mom's feud with the Gutierrez's, the 19-year-old actor said that the storm has passed. He mentioned that he bumped into Raymond Gutierrez, one of Annabelle's brood, in Embassy, The Fort.

"In fairness to Raymond, ang bait niya. Nagkatabi kami. Siya ang nagsimula ng conversation. I don't know him personally para i-approach niya ako ng ganoon. I'm sorry about the stuff that's happening with our parents.' Sabi ko, ‘It's okay. We don't have to be involved naman.' So iyon," IC narrated.

He stressed, "Sobrang may class talaga si Raymond."

IC admitted that the controversy affected their family.

"Siyempre, puro emotional support.

He added, "Naapektuhan talaga ako kasi Mommy ko ‘yon tapos ginaganoon-ganoon nila. I stand by her. Maraming magte-testify don."

Now that he already made a connection with one Gutierrez, is he planning to make a move to mediate a reconciliation?

"Siguro mangyayari naman talaga iyon. Hindi naman talaga ako involved. Hindi ko naman kakilala ang mga Gutierrez. I'm sure ‘yong pagbabati nila, it will take its course.
