Richard, Raymond, and Ruffa Gutierrez raise P1.5 million for charities

On September 16, fans, bargain hunters, and shoppers crowdedthe Rockwell tent for this year’s celebrity bazaar, organized by TV host-actress Ruffa Gutierrez and her brothers Raymond and Richard.

The year before, Ruffa also spearheaded the same event tohelp victims of typhoon that devastated Leyteand to help raise funds for the Philippine Red Cross. The bazaar collected atotal of P1,000,000.

Because of the success of last year’s bazaar, Ruffa, alongwith her brothers Richard and Raymond, decided to do a repeat of the charityevent, titled RRRampa for a Cause...Runway for Charity. This year, they chose World Vision, an organization that helps send kids to school, andMake-a-Wish Foundation, which gives hope to sick kids, as theevent’s beneficiaries.

Aside from the bazaar, a fashion show was also included inthe project. Top designers—Rajo Laurel, Ivarluski Aseron, Avel Bacudio, JoeySamson, Kate Torralba, Paul Cabral, Rhett Eala, Jun Escario, Randy Ortiz,Frederick Peralta, and Inno Sotto—donated some of their creations to beauctioned off. The designer clothes had a bidding price as low as P8,000 and ashigh as P40,000.

Celebrities from both TV giants ABS-CBN and GMA-7 strutted the catwalk: Alessandra de Rossi, Alfred Vargas, Bianca King, Diether Ocampo, Ehra Madrigal, Iya Villania, Margaret Wilson, Marian Rivera, Nancy Castiglione, Phoemela Baranda, Piolo Pascual, Polo Ravales, Rhian Ramos, Wendell Ramos, and Zanjoe Marudo.

Ruffa's close friends in showbiz Richard Gomez, LucyTorres, Alessandra de Rossi, and Gretchen Barretto also helped out by modeling theclothes in a runway show, directed by Robbie Carmona.

Even the Gutierrez matriarch, Annabelle Rama, participatedin the event by manning the entrance and supervising the collection of theentrance fees.

By closing time, the bazaar reportedly had a whopping collection of P1.5million! The profit from the fashion show is yet to be announced. Kudos to RRRampa for a job well done!
