ABS-CBN's Sunday showbiz talk show, The Buzz (in photo), wrestled the lead from GMA-7's Showbiz Central as it gathered a 14.1 percent rating last Sunday, September 16.

ABS-CBN's The Buzz grabbed the lead from rival Showbiz Central last Sunday, September 16, by getting a strong 14.1 percent rating against the 13.2 percent tally collected by GMA-7's Sunday showbiz talk show. This came after The Buzz trailed for four weeks behind their fiercest rival.

This was according to the latest weekend survey conducted by AGB Nielsen Philippines among Mega Manila households from Friday (September 14) to Sunday (September 16).

The tandem of JC de Vera and Yasmien Kurdi, in the meantime, continues to show great promise as their remake of Pasan Ko Ang Daigdig, slowly inches its way to the top of daytime programming. Friday, September 14, showed Pasan Ko Ang Daigdig pulling all stops as it nailed the third spot with a 20.6 percent rating behind Eat Bulaga's 23.2 percent and Daisy Siete's 21.7 percent.

The primetime viewing shifted once more as Mga Mata Ni Anghelita momentarily grabbed the lead from Marimar, which tied with Impostora in second place. Anghelita posted a 34.7 percent rating compared to Marimar's and Impostora's 33.9 percent. Because of a tie in the second spot, the gag show Bubble Gang squeezed in at the Top 10 with 19.5 percent rating.

The Kapamilya primetime shows, meanwhile, occupied the fifth to ninth spots with Kokey (26.4 percent) leading the pack.

Birthday boy Edu Manzano celebrated his special day with a good run as Game KNB? landed at the number five spot overall last Friday through its 20 percent showing. It remained at the same spot the next day, Saturday (September 15), registering a 16.6 percent clip.

Saturday also showed Matt Evans's Pedro Penduko at Ang Mga Engkantao asserting its presence through its 18.1 percent performance, good for third place behind Eat Bulaga's 21 percent and Wowowee's 19.6 percent. It was also the first live appearance of Wowowee host Willie Revillame after a series of shows in the United States.

In the battle of Saturday showbiz talk shows, Startalk once again edged out rival Entertainment Live. Even with the absence of Joey de Leon, who filed an indefinite leave from the show, Startalk still managed to get 15.5 percent rating compared to Entertainment Live's 12 percent.
