"Alam mo yung uuwi ka, yung gusto mo nang umuwi, gusto mo makita yung anak mo. Isang araw lang, miss na miss mo na yung anak mo. What more sa akin, dalawang buwan kong hindi nakikita yung anak ko," Martin Jickain said in a recent interview with Startalk.

In an exclusive Startalk interview, Martin Jickain admitted missing his one- year-old daughter Marthena.

"Sobrang lungkot. Siguro ito yung pinakamasakit na nangyari sa buhay ko. Alam mo yung uuwi ka, yung gusto mo nang umuwi, gusto mo makita yung anak mo. Isang araw lang, miss na miss mo na yung anak mo. What more sa akin, dalawang buwan kong hindi nakikita yung anak ko," he lamented.

PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) first released the news last September 13 that Aiko Melendez separated from Marin Jickain. Aiko then filed a complaint under Republic Act No. 9262 or "Anti-Violence against Women and Children Act of 2004".

The court decided to grant the request of Aiko for a Temporary Protection Order by which Martin must to be 1000 meters away from the work place and home of the Quezon City councilor.

Several weeks ago, Martin was unwilling to follow the order. What if, for instance, he needs to be in Quezon City Hall, he questioned. Aiko is a Second District councilor of Quezon City. Martin now respects the order.

They were supposed to have a hearing yesterday to discuss the Permanent Protection Order but the courts were closed due to the holiday (end of Ramadan).

Aiko and Martin have had no communication since they separated, meaning Martin hasn't seen his daughter.

"Sanay akong natutulog, katabi ko yung anak ko. Pagkagising ko, nilalaro ko. ‘Pag gabi naglalaro kami bago siya matulog. All of a sudden, biglang wala na.

"Umiiyak ako. Iniiyakan ko yung anak ko hanggang ngayon.

But he is hoping that he can survive this trial.

"Wala. Wala akong ibang kinakapitan kung hindi dasal lang. Ang concern ko lang ngayon eh yung anak ko. May karapatan siya maging masaya," he said, referring to Marthena.
