The dynamic diminutive duo of Mahal and Mura took the United States by storm. They were there for a series of shows for the Filipino community. The first three of these shows—on separate weekends in Reno, San Diego, and Los Angeles—were headlined by Dolphy and Zsa Zsa Padilla. Not surprisingly, Mahal (Naomi Carpio) and Mura (Allan Padua) were treated like kids by our U.S.-based kababayans.
"Nako, ipinapasyal sila at ipinagsa-shopping," says their booker, Joe Barrameda. "'Tapos, kung ano-ano natatanggap nilang regalo—stuffed toys ang karamihan. Sabi nga ni Mahal, i-cash na lang daw, kasi hindi naman kasya sa bagahe. Pero pina-door-to-door nila lahat."
