Fashion Folio: Rhian Ramos

Look 1. Rhian gets a flirty, playful look with Shu Uemura’s yellow eyeshadow. When putting on eyeshadow, Yza uses this technique: “Pat mo lang ’yong eyeshadow sa base ng lid and then i-blend mong pataas, so ’yong kulay niya hindi lang nasa isang lugar—umaakyat, tumataas. Mas maganda ’yong gano’n, kasi nagmumukhang natural ang pagka-makeup sa ’yo.”Jersey dress fro

If there’s one quality that Rhian Ramos doesn’t have, it’s definitely kakikayan.

Before she became an artista, she only had one pair of slim ladies’ jeans. What she had in abundance were comfortable but oversized men’s jeans.

She now has a closet full of ladies’ jeans, but she’s still pretty much the same ordinary girl. “I’m not really conscious about looking good,” she says. “I would go out and I’m wearing shorts and a P.E. T-shirt from my old school, and it has a stain on it and like a hole here.”

This attitude extends to make-up. She used to be completely clueless about it when she was still a commercial model and frequently asked for her mom Clara’s help. But she learned how to use it after she joined showbiz.
“It might get itchy or whatever,” she explains, “but you know you’ll get used to it din naman. It’s like a small compromise for everything that the business does for you naman.”

For this YES! shoot, Rhian is more than happy to allow us to vamp up her everyday look by playing up her eyes, using pastel colors and false eyelashes. The 16-year-old looks stunning. Or, as our make-up artist Yza Palmero puts it: “Winner!”
