Miriam Defensor-Santiago, one of the best Philippine senators and public servants who ever served the country, and considered by many Filipinos as "the best president the Philippines never had" passed away this morning, September 29. She was 71.
Many remember Senator Miriam for her being feisty, fearless, and outspoken. In hearings and deliberations, no one can "out-thug" the former judge-immigration commissioner-agrarian reform secretary. You cannot outwit her, win a debate against her or even question her credibility.
