The rumor about the breakup between celebrity couple Roxanne Guinoo and Jake Cuenca has been circulating for a while. But neither of them confirmed or denied this. In fact, they just gave a vague "we're okay" answer to the showbiz media who had been nagging them about the real score.
However, as people say, Roxanne and Jake could not keep a secret from showbiz. In an interview with The Buzz during the taping of Maalaala Mo Kaya last Tuesday, March 11, Roxanne finally confirmed their breakup.
"Maraming dahilan din kasi madami rin naman 'yan—trabaho, yung personal thing namin. So, ngayon kumbaga talagang darating ka sa point na mapapagod ka, kailangan n'yo muna ng space para mag-mature kayong dalawa."
Roxanne clarified that she and Jake remain friends. "Yung friendship nandun pa rin talaga. So, hindi namin minamadali."
The Palos actress also pleaded to the public, "So, yun lang, sana unawain ng tao na sana intindihin nila kung ito lang yung status namin, yun na."
Moreover, Roxanne also told The Buzz that her love for her former boyfriend does not change even though they have decided to split up.
"Oo, naman. Basta nandoon yung love, e," described Roxanne. "Minsan nga kahit magkamali nang todo-todo kung talagang mahal mo, ganun talaga. Mahal ko talaga, yung love nandoon pa rin. Hopefully, sana siya rin, ganun pa rin yung feelings niya."
As proof of their decision to keep their friendship, The Buzz saw the former couple together last Wednesday, March 12, during the trade launch of ABS-CBN's new programs.
Roxanne again described her relationship with Jake. She said, "Okay naman kami, maganda naman ang takbo ng relationship namin, busy kami sa work. So mahirap talaga sumabak, baka ma-break na naman ang heart ko."
Jake supported his ex-girlfriend's statement by saying, "Special naman po ang friendship namin and we plan to keep it that way."
