If there's one thing that Shaina Magdayao and John Prats are consistent about in their interviews, it's that they're exclusively dating each other. Although they always tell the media that they are not into a relationship yet, Shaina clarified that they never denied the real score between them.
In the press conference of her newest show Dragona this afternoon, December 8, at Gusi restaurant on Sgt. Esguerra Street, Quezon City, the young actress said that she just wanted to take things slowly.
"Sabi ko naman po, like what they've been saying na we've been denying, hindi ko po dine-deny ever since naman. 'Yon nga po, I've learned from my sisters' mistakes, parang step-by-step, slowly tayo, kasi mahirap pong madapa. Kung madapa ka, mahirap bumangon, di ba?" explained the younger sister of Vina Morales, who is now pregnant.
Shaina's brief description of their status is: "Okay naman po kami."
PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) then asked her what else is missing with John, who is really serious in pursuing her, to become her boyfriend?
"Siguro time," Shaina replied. "Sabi ko nga, kasi hindi naman ibig sabihin na parang one month ka na niyang nililigawan ay kilalang-kilala mo na 'yong tao, di ba? So, kailangan makilala ko muna siya. Hindi naman ako nagmamadali, e. I mean, it's a step higher than how we were before, we're exclusively dating. So, 'yon, dahan-dahan."
But does she see John as her future boyfriend?
She indirectly replied, "Si John naman, wala naman akong maipipintas doon, e. Mabait naman siya sa pamilya niya, mabait siya sa akin, mabait siya sa pamilya ko, and totoong tao siya sa akin. 'Yon naman ang hinahanap ko, e, di ba, totoong tao?"

"We'll see, di ba?" she chuckled. "Kung kami naman talaga for each other, tutuluy-tuloy naman talaga doon, e."
JOHN PRATS & RAYVER CRUZ. The entertainment media couldn't help but ask Shaina, "Ano'ng meron si John na wala si Rayver [Cruz]?" Rayver was Shaina's former on-screen partner.
Shaina tried to veer away from the topic by saying, "Never naman po ako nag-compare kasi magkaiba po talaga silang dalawa, si John at saka si Rayver. They're both good men. They're very nice to me, so hindi ko po sila makukumpara."
But what was her reaction to reports saying that Rayver cried over her?
"Talaga po, totoo po ba 'yon?" Shaina answered with another question.
Then, she vaguely explained what happened to her and her former dance partner.
"I think po, 'yong nangyari sa amin before, hindi lang sa aming dalawa. Kasi, ang dami ring taong nangingialam, e, not nadamay, pero marami pong sumasaling tao, kaya siguro ganun ang nangyari. Pero wala po akong masasabing anything against Rayver, kasi naging mabuti naman po siya sa akin."
Shaina clarified that everything is fine between her and Rayver now. In fact, she's open to the idea of working with him again in her future projects.
