"It's complicated,"answered JC de Vera when asked if he and LaLola co-star Rhian Ramos are already an item, as rumor suggests.

LaLolaand Shake, Rattle and Roll X star JC de Vera fondly describesfellow Kapuso Marky Cielo as a genuine person inside and out.

"Isa siyang napakabaitna bata. Pero pag sinabing mabait si Marky, ‘yong sinasakop ng word na ‘yon lahat‘yon," JC told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) last night, December 9, at the pressconference of Shake, Rattle and Roll X, Regal Entertainment's official entry to the 2008 Metro Manila Film Festival, held atthe Imperial Palace Suites in Quezon City.

Marky passed away lastSunday, December 7, though the reason behind his death remains a mystery.

JC and Marky never hadthe chance to develop a strong friendship since their respective career paths arenot exactly heading towards the same direction. They worked together on fewseparate occasions, including La Lola, and that was enough for JC to see the late actor'strue character.

ONYASMIEN AND RHIAN. JC simply downplayed the supposed riftgoing on between him and former love-team partner Yasmien Kurdi.

In a press conferencelast November 10 for Saan Darating AndUmaga?. Yasmien, in one instance, refused to mention JC's name directly andinstead referred to the actor as "that person."

"Baka nakalimutan niyalang pangalan ko," said JC with a grin when we reminded him of the incident. Hethen added, as if to reassure us: "Wala, okay lang sa ‘kin. Wala akong problemadun."

JC, in an Octoberarticle that came out here in PEP, confessed that they're no longer on speakingterms.

"Ewan ko, hindi ko rinalam. Siguro dahil busy ako sa work, may sarili akong ginagawa.

He added, "Hindiniya ako pinapansin, e. E, since hindi nga kaminagkikita, so wala talaga..."

Since Yasmien iscompletely out of the picture, at least for now, JC's attention isunderstandably set on La Lolaco-star Rhian Ramos, whom he referred to as the "closest girl" to him these days.

"Magaan ang buhay pagkasama ko siya," he said candidly, without answering directly if there'ssomething special going on between them.

Although he preferredto play coy despite the incessant prodding of the entertainment press for him to give aclearer picture of their current relationship, JC's demeanor every time he'sasked about Rhian seems to convey a rosy portrait.

"Excited ako pumasok sataping and takot ako magkamali, parang ganun," smiled JC meaningfully.

As for Christmas, JC said, "Hindi po malamig."
