Stars, talent managers, and press people took a respite, albeit momentarily, from isyu and intriga to celebrate the birthdays of Mario Bautista (columnist of Malaya and People's Journal), Joe Barrameda (columnist of Abante), and Ian Fariñas (entertainment editor of People's Tonight).
It was a no-frills party, but there were "unspoken" rules:
Eat all you want. There were five lechons, menudo, chicken, veggies, and fish.
Drink all you can. Ian and talent Manager Douglas Quijano enjoyed the Bacardi, while the rest had a grand time sipping (even gulping) the red wine.
Sing your heart out. Almost everyone had his/her moment onstage. Ricky Davao and Tirso Cruz III, of course, were the night's Jamming Kings. Jomari Yllana also rendered two songs. Said an onlooker, "Basta, halos lahat ay na-persuade na kumanta."
Chat the night away. With most of the press people temporarily hiding their tape recorders, discussions were free-flowing.
Other guests who came: talent managers Dolor Guevarra, Ethel Ramos, Alfie Lorenzo, Annabelle Rama, Shirley Kuan, Girlie Rodis, Lani Mercado, Ogie Alcasid, Oia Guanio, Allan K, Lovi Poe, and Kris Bernal, to name a few.
Last but not least, have fun like there's no tomorrow!
Happy birthday! (Click here for the GALLERY.)
