IC Mendoza celebrates "heroic" birthday

IC made a grand entrance in his costume a la Queen Amidala. The party's theme was "Heroes and Villains," and Star of the Night was the birthday boy himself. He was the only one who wore a "karir" outfit.

For several years now, it has been IC Mendoza's birthday tradition to hold his party at the Watering Hole in Shangri-La Plaza Mall, Mandaluyong.

The bar has a sentimental value to him—it was where the former kid-rapper admitted to his mom Dolly Anne Carvajal that he is gay.

In a previous interview, Dolly Anne described the moment as a tearful heart-to-heart talk with his son. But after that memorable night, they called the place their "headquarters" for bonding, celebrating, singing, and dancing.

Last January 31, "Heroes and Villains" flocked to the venue for the drink-till-you-drop party of IC. There was food and fun aplenty, and drinking games courtesy of Sober Club.

Dolly said, "My gift [for IC] was the party. " She added, referring to the theme: "Superheroes kasi I believe that in the absence of heroes, we must create one. And we should always try to be someone's hero. I passed on that belief to IC."

The celebrator made a grand entrance in his Queen Amidala (Star Wars) costume, then he later changed into an outfit inspired by The Phantom (Phantom of the Opera).

Celebrities who made time for the event: Amalia Fuentes, Ricky Davao, Tintin and Julius Babao, Luke Mejares, Bimbo Cerrudo, Alex Gonzaga, Marco Morales, Say Alonzo, and True Faith.
