It's summer and we have this summer theme going on here in PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal). So we went around and asked some of our celebrities where they are going to spend their summer and what their favorite summer-themed movies are. Just like us mere mortals, the stars also need to take a break, unwind and, maybe, enjoy once again their favorite summer movie.
Yasmien Kurdi. "Kagagaling ko lang po sa Bohol . Pero magbo-Boracay po ako. 'Tapos baka magkita-kita kami doon nina Dion [Ignacio], Mark Herras at iba ko pang mga kaibigan. My favorite summer themed movie? The Beach."
Sunshine Dizon: "Uuwi po sa Iloilo sa province namin. And sa movie naman, The Beach, Grease, mga old classic movies."
Chynna Ortaleza: "My friends and I are planning to go to Bora. If I finish taping for Paano Ba Ang Mangarap before rainy season comes, matutuloy din kami duon. My fave beach movie... There are three films that come to mind. Mama Mia, The Beach and 50 First Dates."
Mocha Uson: "Favorite ko Into the Blue starring Jessica Alba. Nag-summer vacation ang Mocha Girls sa Guam . Sabay ng tour namin dun last March. Sarap dun and ganda ng beach."
Assunta de Rossi: "We're going to negros this Thursday. Sasama din kapatid ko and some friends. Gusto kasi ni Alex [Alessandra de Rossi] mag-shoot ng music video doon. Favorite summer-themed movie ko is Meet The Fockers and 50 First Dates."
Eugene Domingo: "My favorite would be Temptation Island by Joey Gosiengfiao. For summer mostly work. For Holy Week, just a few days in Honolulu, Hawaii, for pleasure and for the screening of 100 in Doris Duke Theatre for the first Honolulu Asian Film Festival.Yun na."
Asia Agcaoili: "I'm in Amsterdam now... I'm based here and this summer, I'm going to Monaco for two weeks. My favorite summer-themed movie, The Beach."
Glaiza de Castro: "Hello po! We had an early summer vacation sa Bora last Feb, and we might go there again. Pero kung hindi tuloy, nag-iisip pa kami ng family kung saan. My favorite summer-themed film would have to be 50 First Dates."
Ronnie Liang: "I'm here po in Tagaytay having our summer vacation with my family sa Canon Woods po kami nag-stay. My favorite summer-themed movie is White Chicks. Comedy po siya, pero may mga beach scene din doon."
Gabe Mercado: "I just came back from a quick trip to San Francisco . I hope to check out the beaches in the Dumaguete area though after Holy Week. Favorite summer-themed beach movie is Joey Gosiengfiao's Temptation Island because 'What are bitches for but to bitch around with their fellow bitches?'"
Ogie Diaz: "Magda-Davao Pearl Farm kami ng mag-iina ko. 'Tapos, pag Holy Thursday and Good Friday, me panata ako, nagpapabasa ako. Yung fave ko na may beach, e, yung The Beach ni Leonardo Dicaprio."
Pauleen Luna: "I just got back from New York. EB [Eat Bulaga!] trip yung NJ [ New Jersey ], but nag-side trip ako sa New York . I had so much fun. Going to Guam for Holy Week. Then maybe Bora when i get back. My fave movie with a beach scene on it is 50 First Dates."
Uma Khouny: "This summer I'm planning to stay in the Philippines and explore unknown destinations. We have so many beautiful beaches here where you can relax and really enjoy. My favorite summer destination is Batanes. Best time to visit para walang bagyo. My favorite summer themed movie—[You Don't Mess With The] Zohan."
