Danielle Castaño (left) and Maggie Wilson (right) got into verbal exchange with locals at a Boracay bar that resulted in injury for both camps. Although an agreement was reached between them, both parties claim that one should apologize to the other.

Bb. Pilipinas-World 2007 Maggie Wilson and Bb. Pilipinas-World 2008 Danielle Castaño got involved in a slapping incident with locals while vacationing in Boracay.

According to the police blotter certification obtained by The Buzz from the Boracay Special Tourist Police office, last April 6, they received a call from the Juice Bar Station 2 in Boracay stating that a disturbance was going on at the bar. The police rushed to the scene and brought to the precinct the people involved: Danielle Castaño; June Vido, a male resident of Boracay Island; and Mary Ann Berroya, also from Boracay.

The report stated that at 10:50 p.m., a verbal exchange occurred between the beauty queens and the locals which resulted in a commotion that allegedly left Danielle with a leg wound and June Vido with a wound on his forehead.

At the station, both parties agreed that they would file no charges against each other.

THE LOCALS' SIDE.The Buzz was able to get the side of the locals on the incident.

A girl identified as Nicole spoke first. She said, "One of the three girls, like, I just said that I don't want any trouble so let's go our separate ways. I guess they couldn't take that and decided to bring the girls around me and threaten."

June alleged that Maggie and company were making faces at Nicole. He said that he approached Maggie and said in a "nice manner" to stop teasing and making fun of Nicole. "But they started to become hysterical," said June.

When the issue escalated, Mary Ann came in and defended her friends. "My reaction was to stop it," she said. "So I came up there and was between them. 'Stop it,' I said. But she [Danielle] went to me and said, over and over to my face, 'Do you know me? Do you know who I am?' and I said, 'No, why, do you know me?' And my son, who was next to me, reacted and said, 'Don't talk to my mother that way! That's my mother!' After that, she pushed my son. Nanginig ako nung nakita na tinulak ang anak ko, e, nagdilim ang paningin ko, I grabbed her and put her on the floor. That's the only thing I did and inawat kami."

"She saw me and started kicking me," added June. "Hindi niya ako naabot so she threw her purse straight to my face with maximum force. Hinarang ko yung bato niya at tumama sa mukha niya at ako ang sinasabing sumampal sa mukha niya. It is in my position dahil self-defense."

It has been said that the beauty queens would file charges if they don't issue a public apology. What is their say on that?

"I would not give a public apology," replied Mary Ann. "Because it is not fair, and if it will come from both sides then it is fair."

What's their message to the beauty queens?

Mary Ann immediately said, "If you're gonna come to the island like any other tourist, enjoy your holiday. If you're gonna drink, don't take it to your head and get crazy."

MAGGIE WILSON REACTS. After the VTR, The Buzz was able to interview Maggie Wilson via phone patch. She gave her reaction to the locals' interview and air their side of the story.

"Actually, hindi kami naghanap ng away," began Maggie. "Ang nangyari doon, we went to the bar and me and Danielle, we were just dancing. Tapos nilapitan kami ni June, tapos he yelled at us and he accused us of talking bad about their friend."

Maggie added that June wasn't talking to them nicely, as opposed to June's story that he approached and spoke to Maggie's group in a good way. "He wasn't talking to us nicely," said Maggie. "Sabi ko, 'Look, we don't know you. We're not trying to make any trouble because we're here on vacation.'"

After that, Maggie said she walked away and Danielle was left alone. When Maggie turned back, she saw June slapping Danielle.

"I don't know why, but they're picking a fight, I guess," said Maggie. "Bumalik ako and I saw Danielle, she hit him [June] with her bag. Kasi siyempre sinampal siya. He was about to punch her and sinipa ni Danielle si June. Tapos dumating yung Mary Ann. She was yelling at us and asking why we were fighting her friend."

Maggie then expressed her confusion on why Mary Ann brought along her sons (aged 14 and 15) to the bar. "This was a bar, ha," added Maggie. "She said she was with her sons. Her sons are 14 and 15 years old. They shouldn't be in a bar in the first place. Hindi tama yun. Ipapakita ba niya sa sons niya on how she's gonna react? We're all mature people, sana kinausap kami nang maayos."

Maggie then proceeded to relate that Mary Ann grabbed Danielle by the hair to the ground and dragged her all over the place. "Inawat na naming lahat," Maggie said. "We were trying to push them away. Grabe talaga ang ginawa nila kay Danielle!"

Is it true that nobody would press any charges?

"We came to an agreement sa police station," she said. "Pina-blotter na lang namin sila. If they cause any more trouble even without us, e, ikukulong na sila, kasi mali talaga yung nangyari. Danielle has five injuries! Hindi lang yung sa toe niya. Not a scratch on the other camp. Not one of them was hurt. Nanay yung kumaladkad kay Danielle, e. They were drunk and we were drinking, but we were trying to have fun."

Did they part ways with a fixed agreement?

"Yes, we opted for an apology," Maggie said. "Tapos biglang lumabas sa news at nagkamali-mali lahat ang istorya. So, sa akin, okay lang dahil alam ko naman totoong nangyari at nasa police report ang nangyari."

Maggie said that she wasn't very much affected by the incident thought she couldn't say the same for Danielle who was affected.

"Her family started calling her and started getting mad at her," added Maggie. "So she asked for a public apology. Sabi naman ng other camp na ayaw nilang magbigay ng public apology. If they were really sorry, I think they should give a public apology. But since they didn't, e, it only shows na they're guilty. Either way you look at it, sila pa rin ang mali kasi they're the ones who started the fight and threw the first punch."

Right now, it's Danielle's decision whether to pursue a case or not. For Maggie, she will always be there to defend Danielle.
