Celeb Christmas Wishes

Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez's Christmas wish is for this year's typhoon victims to move on and rebuild their lives.

Christmas is just a few days away, and while a lot of people are busy buying gifts for their loved ones and friends ('tis the season for giving and sharing, right?), there are also those who think about what they want to have this Christmas '09.

PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) wanted to know what our own fave celebs want this Christmas. So PEP emailed, messaged in their Facebook accounts, and asked the stars in personal interviews: "Aside from world peace, and love and understanding among men, what do you want to have this Christmas?"

HEALTH FIRST. First to answer back was Cristine Reyes. The sexy FHM Philippines' Sexiest Woman 09, mentions good health for her Christmas wish. Ara's kid sister simply answered, "Good health, coz I'm always sick."

She does have a frail—but sexy—body. Just last month, she was hospitalized for fatigue due to dehydration. She recovered quickly, though. Just enough time to recover for her new show, My Cheating Heart in ABS-CBN.

HOUSE MATTERS. Showbiz Central host John Lapus wishes for what a lot of Filipinos want for their own: "House and Lot!"

"Tama si Kabayan Noli [de Castro, in his Pag-Ibig Fund commercial]. Mahirap mangupahan. Ha-ha-ha. Mas mura, van! Mas maliit, laptop na Mac na silver. Wish ko lang..." continued the lovable showbiz news host and Full House cast member.

Former Pinoy Big Brother Season 2 housemate Saicy Aguila also wishes for her own house. "Wish lang naman, di ba? He-he-he!

"Sana makapagpatayo na ng house para sa family ko," the sexy Wowowee dancer said.

Bianca Gonzalez, on the other hand, just wanted her house to be organized for a Christmas wish.

"Actually, I want to be gifted the services of like a personal organizer, like in the show, Clean House. The organizer goes to the house of the subject, 'tapos puts everything in order and arranges and files everything! I need that for all my things!" revealed the Y-Speak, Entertainment Live!, Pinoy Big Brother and I Am Ninoy host.

KIDS STUFF. MTV funnyman Ramon Bautista wants to go back to being a kid. He said he wants to have a NES FamiCom or Nintendo Entertainment System Family Computer. This 8-bit, best-selling game console of the '80s became popular because of its licensed games like Donkey Kong Jr., Super Mario Brothers, Duck Hunt, and Kung-Fu.

"Gusto ko ng family computer, kasi naalala ko yung kabataan ko," reasoned Ramon who made a series of instructional "McSaver Moves" dance video clips.

New MYX VJ Janine Ramirez or VJ Janine wished not only one, but two...no, three...no, four! Four Christmas wishes.

"Kung things talaga, let's see... Keds Sneakers!" the former GMA Network International Deparment Marketing Specialist turned VJ said.

"He-he-he! But I don't know. I'm not used to getting presents na... Alam ko na! V.I.P. Tickets to the The Killers, Neyo, and Paramore concerts next year!"

But on a serious note, the ex-copywriter for an ad agency wanted peace and love for all.

"If it's things like peace and love... It's really justice for the massacres heard and unheard of in our country. And... for everyone to be more selfless."

LOVE, PEACE, CHANGE, HOPE. Former sexy star turned award-winning actress Rosanna Roces wanted a happy family for her Christmas wish.

"Ang makitang buo ang pamilya ko kahit saglit lang. Kung di mamarapatin ng pagkakataon, kahit sa panaginip, okey na rin."

Osang who still has an axe to grind with Senator Bong Revilla and his family, longs to hold her grandson Gabriel again. The feisty actress has been verbally assaulting the Revillas in her Facebook account for not returning Gabriel to her. She also wished for her children to appreciate the hardships she endured to raise them.

"Mayakap ko mga apo ko isa-isa at sana marinig ko sa bibig ng mga anak ko, 'Ma, salamat at binuhay mo kami. Salamat sa paghihirap mo.' Kasi yun ang di ko narinig kailanman kahit kanino sa buhay ko," the actress sadly said.

Acoustic pop singer and Sabado Boys member Jimmy Bondoc has a mouthful to say for his Christmas wish.

"Aside from peace and love, my very specific Christmas wish is for show business to finally change. Sana mawala na sa uso ang kung sino man ang may bagong sex scandal, kung sino ang kabit ni [Manny] Pacquiao, kung sino nabigyan ng pera, et cetera. Though I know scandals, tsismis, and all that will always be part of the business, I hope good movies, good songs, and good talent may someday dominate the headlines, and get mass media support.

" If we can't even change the 'attitude' of 'siraan' in show business, how can we expect the world to focus on peace and love? Tuwang-tuwa tayo pag may nagkakagulo, pag may nagsisiraan. At pinapatulan natin, dahil binibili natin ang peryodiko, at tumututok tayo sa telebisyon kapag may mga kaguluhang nagaganap.

" The world is the way it is, because all over media, we focus on the negative, and we, therefore, attract the negative. Ang nangyayari sa mundo ay bunga ng ating lihim na pagnanasa sa kaguluhan. But, if we focus on the positive, and stop secretly desiring the negative, I am certain that the world will change for the better," Jimmy opined.

Actor Aga Muhlach who caught attention this year with his ranting in a YouTube video that circulated in Facebook accounts has a deep and meaningful wish for Christmas.

"To find our real purpose in this world. And to start loving our country."

The actor seems to have found his purpose by helping those in need. Fifteen years ago, he started the MaAga ang Pasko project with a fastfood chain and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). This project is a toy and book donation drive that has since snowballed into a full-fledged relief and rehabilitation campaign every Christmas. Aga and his colleagues in the campaign not only bring toys and books to the less-privileged children, but now also help in feeding children, building classrooms and donating school learning materials.

"And I did all of these without campaigning or going for a seat in any government position," Aga proudly said.

Regine Velasquez similarly wished for the wellbeing of others—hope for all the survivors who suffered in the devastation brought by Typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng this year.

"My wish is para doon sa mga taong nawalan ng lahat for them to be able to move on," the popular singer said. "I know that's really very hard to do. But I wish that with God's help, with God's grace, I wish that they'll be able to move on already and rebuild their lives. Yun ang wish ko talaga this Christmas."
