In showbiz, some like their parties loud and flashy, but Dolor Guevarra—though she's a formidable figure in Tinseltown—prefers it low-key.
Last December 3, she gathered all her closest friends in showbiz at Mother Lily Monteverde's Imperial Palace Suites in Quezon City for an intimate celebration of her 59th birthday.
Present were talent managers Manny Valera, Shirley Kuan, Girlie Rodis, Annabelle Rama, and June Rufino—including Eat Bulaga! lady boss Malou Choa-Fagar, Regal Films' matriarch Lily Monteverde and her daughter Roselle Monteverde-Teo.
The celebrator's top wards Susan Roces, with Susan's daughter Mary Grace, and Carmina Villarroel, also showed up. Other well-wishers were Armida Siguion-Reyna, Bibeth Orteza, Jomari Yllana, and Radha. Of course, director Boots Plata, the hubby of Tita Dolor, didn't mind playing host and photographer.
Even without the usual party trimmings, the affair was fun-filled and full of chika—the topics ranged from political issues to showbiz items, like the real score between a famous man and a starlet, plus some trivia about a famous host.
The dinner of pansit, lechon, adobo, laing, and other Pinoy dishes finished at around 10:00 p.m.
