Actor Geoff Eigenmann jumpstarted his diet this year by subjecting himself to a ten-day detox program where he refrained from stuff considered "unnatural."
"All vegetables, fruits, no salt, no sugar, no tea, no coffee... Lahat natural," Geoff revealed to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in a recent interview held at Aresi restaurant in Tomas Morato, Quezon City.
After the ten-day period lapsed, Geoff started eating chicken and fish, but still "no meat."
"My mom [award-winning actress and director, Gina Alajar] does it [ten-day detox] every year or every six months," beamed Geoff, who's very vocal in expressing admiration for his mother as a person and s an artist.
The program enabled Geoff to shed off excess pounds gained during the long Christmas break. He also found out that guarding his diet through abstinence was a good way for him to remain fit and healthy during the time he's yet to find his workout rhythm.
"When I did detox, I lost weight and maganda 'yong naging feeling ko. So ngayon mas nagiging ganado na ako to start working out again."
LOOKING FOR WAYS. Geoff found enough time to workout following the conclusion of Rosalinda—the primetime series he topbilled together with leading lady, Carla Abellana. Now, Geoff is once again busy as projects started coming in at the start of 2010.
First on Geoff's list is the primetime show bannered by Aljur Abranica and Kris Bernal titled, The Last Prince, where he and Carla have special roles.
The tight schedule also means limited time to indulge in physical activities. According to Geoff, one has to continuously find ways to still sweat it out despite the punishing workload.
"Hinahanapan pa rin naman [ng oras] kasi usually ang taping every other day so you have a day in between so bahala ka na kung anong mase-sked mo for that day. Tapos merong times naman pag wala kang ginagawa ang dami mong free time," said Geoff, who plays a lot of sports including boxing and basketball..
"It's time management lang talaga or kunwari may something today after free ka singit mo kahit one-hour workout lang just to keep the metabolism going. Kasi kung fit ka naman and healthy and you're doing the right thing kahit mga 30 minutes ka lang tumakbo, okay ka na, maintenance lang talaga."
