After staging the local run of The Westside Story, the tandem of Christian Bautista and Karylle earned a following. Even if they keep on saying that their chemistry is set just for the stage, fans are hoping the reel would turn real.

The first US show of pop idol Christian Bautista and singer-actress Karylle in the concert Love at Last was sold out!

Held last February 5-6 at the Cache Creek Resort Casino's Club 88 in California, Christian and Karylle regaled the audience with mostly standards, plus signature hits from their respective albums.

In keeping up with the Valentine season, they also rendered romantic duets like "I've Finally Found Someone," "The Way You Look Tonight," "Please Be Careful With My Heart," and "Somewhere," from the musical West Side Story—which had its Manila run in 2008, and was their first project together.

The undeniable chemistry of Christian and Karylle brought romance, including humor, to casino guests that night.

To everyone's surprise, casino owner and general manager Randy Takemoto, with his wife Dina, made a rare appearance in the venue upon learning about the show's successful turnout on the first night.

After the show, the Takemoto couple—together with entertainment director Ben Slaght—personally congratulated Christian and Karylle for a job well done.

The show's producers further confirmed the positive response of the casino management and promised to do a series of repeats next year.
