The people behind GMA Network's News and Public Affairs staged a trade show last February 7 at the Events Hall of the A. Venue in Makati City to officially announce the launching of GMA News TV.
Taking over Q Channel 11's VHF slot starting February 28, GMA News TV aims to fulfill the viewers' demand for more news and public affairs program, keeping them informed on what's happening not just in the world of politics, but in society as well.
"Deploying its resources to help people become more socially aware, to provide viewers with the knowledge that may perhaps effect change in their lives, families and communities," goes the station's press statement.
GMA Network's Senior Vice-President for News and Public Affairs Marissa Flores said, "We hope to make a difference through quality programs and fair, balanced, responsible reporting—which have been the trademark of GMA News and Public Affairs."
